Biography
Jiah Khan shot into limelight with her debut film "Nishabd" starring alongside the legendary badshah of bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan. It was Ram Gopal Varma, the sensational director in Bollywood who first discovered her and was responsible for her entry into Bollywood.
Jiah Khan was born on 20th February 1988 in New York, USA. Her mother Rabiya is an actress. Jiah Khan studied English literature and took acting lessons from Lee Strasberg's Institute, London, U K. Being a passionate singer Jiah Khan took formal training in classical opera. Besides acting, singing and playing piano, Jiah Khan is also an extremely good dancer. She is well trained in five different types of dances, namely, lambada, salsa, samba, belly dancing and Kathak.

Jiah Khan, the multi-faceted actress has a powerful screen presence and is very serious to make it big in Bollywood. Famous movie director Mahesh Bhatt had aptly commented saying, "She has real talent and a powerful screen presence. She is quick to learn and she's not just flirting with a career in the movies. Her first film would have been Mahesh Bhatt's "Tumsa Nahin Dekha", starring Emraan Hashmi, but was dropped at the last moment for unknown reasons and her role went to Dia Mirza. As luck would have it, "Nishabd" came her way. It's a film about a girl in her teens, who falls in love with a 60-year old. The role is very challenging and a perfect opportunity for Jiah to prove her acting abilities.
