At the tender age of 16 with just Rs.250 in her pocket, Kashmira Shah walked out of her home in pursuit of her dreams... to become a big star in Bollywood.To survive and to keep her hopes alive she undertook catalogue work for a paltry sum of Rs.500 or sometimes Rs.750 per assignment. Meanwhile she had her portfolio shot and started meeting people around in Bollywood. She slowly started climbing the ladder of success.In 1993 she won the 'Miss World University India' and won 'Miss Talent award' in the national contest in South Korea. In 1995 she won the 'Miss Globe India' and was ranked in the top 5 of the Best National Costume awards. She did theatres too.
Slowly small roles started coming her way including item numbers in a number of movies. She grabbed them all in the fond hope of proving her mettle as a star. She even essayed negative roles in movies like Jungle for which she was nominated for 'Best Female in a Negative Role' at Screen Videocon Awards for Jungle.Soon Kashmira Shah got her first big break on the Silver screen in the movie Yes Boss, starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. Till date Kashmira Shah had acted in several movies like Koi Kisi Se Kum Nahin, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Dulhan Banoo Main Teri, Hindustan Ki Kasam, Kurukshetra, Aankhen, Champion etc.This item girl turned actress also featured in the first edition of the realty show "Big Boss".
